TADS are temporarily placed small titanium screws that are place into the jawbone by a specialist. Local anaesthetic is used to numb the area before the screw is placed. Once they have served their purpose, the TADS are removed in practice.
They act as an anchor to allow for more precise and efficient tooth repositioning, that normal fixed brace may not be able to provide. The controlled and predictable movement of teeth can shorten the overall duration of orthodontic treatment and reduce the need for jaw surgery in more complex cases, by addressing skeletal asymmetries.
