Removable Braces
We may look at removable braces to expand arches, move the jaw forwards or…

We think the earlier the treatment the better, as we can take advantage of natural growth and change in the mouth, preventing more invasive treatment as an adult.
Whilst straight teeth is not essential to child development, it has long term benefits. By making them easier to clean, it a reduces the risk of gum disease, tooth decay and jaw pain. Just as importantly, it improves their confidence in their smile. For these reasons, we recommend that the best time for an orthodontic assessment is between 10 and 11 years old.
Orthodontics cover a wide range of dental issues, such as improving the bite, teeth alignment and closing spaces. If your child displays any of these issues, you can raise concern with your general dentist who can give an initial assessment of orthodontic need and refer to us, if they deem it necessary. Alternatively, you can self refer your child to us, there will be a private consultation fee for this.
Children under the age of 18 can qualify for NHS treatment if they have been referred by your dentist. Check our NHS Orthodontics page for more information.
